Things to know about Family Hotels in Siem Reap

backpacking family angkor wat kids

If you’re looking for family hotels in Siem Reap, here are a few things to watch out for. Firstly, Siem Reap is a very hot and intense place to explore with kids. If you can find a hotel that has an outdoor swimming pool or includes a bathtub with your room, you will probably appreciate this. Many hotels in Siem Reap do have an outdoor swimming pool. Remember to be very cautious and supervise your kids well if they are exploring the hotel grounds, especially if there is a swimming pool.

Although Siem Reap has a wide range of accommodation, there are not any large brand-name hotels. Most of the hotels in Siem Reap are small, boutique, independently run businesses. Generally speaking, hotels in Siem Reap do not offer services like babysitting, kids’ clubs, and they don’t generally have kid-friendly facilities like playgrounds or kids’ pools. If you are looking for the Classic Family Hotel experience, then we recommend considering a trip to Thailand rather than Cambodia. However, there are some excellent family hotels in Siem Reap, which offer spacious rooms and a clean, comfortable, safe environment for you and your kids. In this article, we are going to review and recommend the best family-friendly hotels in the area.

Top tips for booking a Family Hotel in Siem Reap

Here are a few important tips if you are booking a family hotel in Siem Reap:

Include all kids in your booking

Make sure that you include all your children when you make your booking. If you are using a platform like Agoda or Booking.com, you will have an opportunity to enter your kids when you search for the property. Make sure that you enter all of your kids and their ages, and take a print screen of this. In some cases, if your kids are not chargeable at the hotel, they will not be listed in your booking confirmation. We have had several situations where hotels have been upset that we have turned up with kids that are not on the booking confirmation. We have been able to show them the print screen to show that the kids were included in the original booking and that this is a problem with the Booking.com platform.

Request a cot

If you are traveling with a baby, some hotels may be able to offer a free cot on request. We recommend contacting the hotel as early as possible because they will normally be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

Contact properties directly

And finally, if you’re traveling on a budget with kids, we recommend finding a hotel that you like the look of and then contacting them directly to ask if they can give you a special deal if you book directly with them. On the one hand, this means that you do not get the security and reassurance of booking online; however, you may be able to get a favorable price if you book directly.

1 Passport Villa

Passport Villa 1

Passport Villa is one of the best budget family hotels in Siem Reap. The price range for a family is £20 – £30 per night. This beautiful hotel has an outdoor swimming pool (which is excellent at this price range). As a cheaper hotel, the facilities are relatively basic and pretty simple. We highly recommend the family room, which has an extra-large double bed and a bunk bed. The family room can comfortably sleep a family of four. It is relatively spacious, clean, comfortable, and safe.

Passport Villa 2

It is worth noting that the bunk bed could be stressful if you have a young toddler that is able to climb but not safe to climb. The Passport Villa Hotel does not have any cots available, so if you are traveling with a baby, we recommend that you consider your sleeping arrangements before you book this place. Passport Villa Hotel also has a very good central location, a short walk from Night Market Street and Pub Street. There are plenty of bars, shops, cafes, and restaurants in the area, so you should find it easy to feed your kids in the area.

2 Lub d Cambodia Siem Reap Hotel

Lub d Cambodia 1

Lub d Cambodia is a trendy, stylish, and vibrant family hotel in Siem Reap. It is situated around a five or ten-minute walk from Pub Street. This hotel has a friendly, sociable vibe with a stylish contemporary interior design theme. It has an outdoor swimming pool and social area with a swim-up bar. They also have a spacious Family and Friends room, which can sleep up to four people, with an extra-large double bed and two single beds. It is excellent value for money, starting at around £40 per night. In our opinion, this is an excellent option for a family.

Lub d Cambodia 2

Although the room is not particularly spacious, it is clean, comfortable, and well-designed, with a partition for additional privacy. All rooms have air conditioning and an en-suite bathroom with a hot shower. Lub d Cambodia has excellent facilities for a relatively low budget hotel, including an outdoor swimming pool, free parking, restaurant, and bar. You can pay extra to have an exceptional breakfast included with your room. Although this is a very affordable and welcoming hotel for families, it is important to recognize a few things. Firstly, they do not have any cots available on request, so if you are planning to travel with a baby, we recommend considering your sleeping plans before you book. This hotel also has an outdoor swimming pool, so remember to supervise your kids carefully.

3 The Indra Angkor Residence

Indra Angkor 1

The Indra Angkor Residence is an excellent option for families traveling to Cambodia on a lower budget. This beautiful hotel offers a lot for your money. Low budget doesn’t necessarily mean you have to rough it. The Indra Angkor Residence is excellently situated next to the Siem Reap River, around a 5-minute walk from Pub Street. This hotel has a beautiful Boutique interior design theme, with bold, vibrant Cambodian artwork.

Indra Angkor 2

Even though the price is relatively low, it also has excellent facilities, including a beautiful outdoor swimming pool (perfect for a refreshing dip if you have been exploring Siem Reap). If you are traveling with kids, we particularly recommend the Family Suite with Terrace and Pool View. This beautiful suite generally ranges in price between £40 – £110 per night. It has two extra-large double beds, and they can also offer a free cot on request (0-5 years old). Although this room is very affordable, it is also excellently furnished, including a kettle and drink, a flat-screen TV, wardrobe, and plenty of space.

4 The Peak Elite Boutique Hotel

Peak Elite 1

The Peak Elite Boutique Hotel is a stylish mid-range family hotel in Siem Reap with excellent facilities. It is clean, stylish, and comfortable and, in our opinion, offers outstanding value for money. If you’re traveling with kids, we highly recommend the Deluxe Family Room, which is a spacious room with a large double bed and two single beds. This room typically ranges in price between £50 – £80 per night. They can also add a cot to your room for free; make sure that you contact the hotel early to request this.

Peak Elite 2

We love the stylish interior design, with large floor-to-ceiling windows allowing plenty of natural light. The room also has an en-suite bathroom with a large stone bathtub. This is a beautiful addition for families traveling with kids (Siem Reap is a hot, dusty city, so it is great to be able to throw your grubby kids into a bath). The Peak Elite Boutique Hotel also has excellent facilities, including an outdoor swimming pool that is suitable for kids, free parking, a spa and wellness center, a bar, and they also offer breakfast (you may need to pay extra for this when you book your room).

The main disadvantage of this hotel is the location; it is around a 15-minute walk from Pub Street. You will probably need to rely on using tuk tuks if you are traveling with kids because this is a relatively long walk. There are plenty of tuk tuks around, and this journey should only cost $1 – $2. Learn more about Tuk tuks in Cambodia.

5 The Central Suite Residence

Central Suite Residence

The Central Suite Residence is one of the best mid-range family hotels in Siem Reap. This beautiful hotel has outstanding facilities, including an outdoor swimming pool, spa, and an on-site restaurant. It is situated right in the heart of Siem Reap, on a road called Sok San Road. This is a great area with plenty of shops, cafes, restaurants, and bars. It is also a few minutes’ walk from Pub Street, and there is a 7-Eleven shop 1 minute away. The Central Suite Residence also offers a very spacious family Suite that can sleep up to four people, with an extra-large double bed and two single beds. This Suite is beautifully designed and spacious. We love the charismatic fusion of traditional Cambodian artwork and contemporary interior design. The family Suite typically ranges in price between £100 – £200 per night.

Central Suite Residence 2

This hotel also has excellent family-friendly policies, with a free cot available on request for children 0 to 5 years old. You can also get an extra bed on request for $20 per night per child for kids between 6 and 11 years old. So, this hotel really can accommodate families with a range of needs. They also include an outstanding breakfast with the price. It is particularly good to have breakfast included when you’re traveling with kids; no need to walk out of your hotel and hunt for food, everything you need is right there. Most importantly, the staff at Central Suite Residence are absolutely excellent. You can experience the best of Cambodian hospitality (which is particularly important when you are traveling with kids).

6 The Aviary Hotel

The Aviary Hotel 1

The Aviary Hotel is one of the most luxurious family hotels in Siem Reap. It is located around a 5-minute walk from Pub Street, and there are plenty of cafes, shops, and restaurants in the area. The Aviary Hotel has outstanding facilities, including an outdoor saltwater swimming pool, a gourmet restaurant, and a Spa and Wellness Center. This beautiful hotel also has a fantastic family room, which has two single beds and one double bed.

The Aviary Hotel 2
