We have visited Our Jungle Camp a couple of times – and love it so much we wanted to write a dedicated article to help you plan your own trip. We will share everything you need to know: Accommodation, activities and much more!
So what’s all the fuss about? Our Jungle Camp offers unique Thailand tree houses, jungle lodges, earth houses and riverside bungalows built using bamboo and renewable materials. Each type of ecolodge offers a sustainable, intimate and immersive experience in the beautiful Khao Sok National Park jungle whilst enjoying comfort, style and a splash of luxury. As far as Eco resorts Thailand go, you will struggle to find one more genuinely committed to the cause that offers such an extensive exciting array of earthy nature based activities and excursions. They offer genuinely ethical elephant encounters and many trekking options that equip you to encounter wild animals in their natural habitat.

What types of accommodation can you get at Our Jungle Camp?
1 Tree House Suites (spacious, lux & immersive)
In our view the most exciting accommodation has to be the eco Thailand tree houses. Our jungle camp offers one or two floor tree houses complete with comfy beds, fans, mosquito nets, ensuite bathroom, hot shower, french windows and balconies for admiring the jungle and of course your morning yoga session. Choose between a jungle view or a river view. Keep your eye open and you may even be visited by some of the friendly primates who inhabit the local jungle. We couldn’t quite believe it when the monkeys landed on our balcony in the morning! It speaks to how genuinely eco friendly this resort is that they just pop by!
2 Paddy Bungalows (panoramic, lux & amazing value!)
The Paddy Bungalows offer a secluded, stylish and comfortable home immersed in nature. The bungalows are beautifully designed with thatched roofs, weaved bamboo walls, and large windows and doors for light. They totally have Thailand tree house vibes, definitely worth checking out. Each bungalow is equipped with a fan, mosquito nets, en suite bathroom, hot shower and a veranda. You are spoilt for choice between a view of paddy fields and the epic Khao Sok mountains or a river view. If you’re looking for an authentic and affordable Eco resort Thailand experience, these are a perfect option.
3 Thailand Earth House (earthy, luxurious, immersive & spacious)
Similar to the Bamboo Bungalows but constructed from brick not wood, these beautiful earthy eco houses make for a relaxing stay where you feel connected with nature. Even the bricks are eco here – made on site from the clay in the earth! The Earth House offers a full range of amenities; ensuite bathroom, hot shower, fan, mosquito nets for a good night’s sleep. The Earth House also has wheelchair access. Staying up in the canopy in the Thailand tree house is definitely exciting, but there is something deeply soothing and well ‘earthy’ about these beautiful little houses.

How do you get to Our Jungle Camp?
1 Our Jungle Camp From Phuket
From Phuket: Go to Phuket Bus Terminal 2 (this is around 10km north of the Old Town Area). Don’t get confused with Bus Terminal 1 in the Phuket Old town. When you get to Phuket Bus terminal 2, you can purchase a ticket to Khao Sok (this is on the Surat Thani Bus). Tickets cost 250 baht per person (although they may charge 300 per person because this is a touristy area!)
The buses are large and there is plenty of space under the bus for bags. Go to the toilet before you get on the bus because there are no toilets on board. The journey takes around 3.5 hours and is likely to include a 30 minute stop close to Khao Sok. Be ready to jump off the bus quickly because they don’t wait for long. It is just a quick drop off! Buses depart roughly every 30 minutes – 1 hour starting from 6am (remember you need to take the Phuket to Surat Thani bus which does a drop off at Khao Sok).
From the drop off point the journey to Our Jungle camp is around 2.5km: This takes around 40 minutes to walk (it is a pretty hot and exposed walk during the day). Alternatively you can hop in a Songthaew 50 – 100 baht (these wait around in the area). There are no local buses on this route so these are your only options.
Alternatively you can take a minibus from Phuket that includes hotel pick up. Minibuses run from 8am – 4pm approximately every hour (pick up time depends on your location). Expect to pay around 700 – 1,000 baht per person. You can book minibuses through travel agents in your area in Phuket.
What is the best way to get from Bangkok to Our Jungle Camp?
This Thailand tree house is such a contrast from Bangkok! There are no direct trains from Bangkok to Khao Sok. We recommend travelling from Bangkok to Surat Thani by night train and then take a minibus from Surat Thani to Khao Sok in the morning (around 200 baht per person). Taking a train from Bangkok to Surat Thai is a similar price to a bus ticket (depending what class of train you travel in) – around 1,000 – 1,500 baht. Trains are also more comfortable than buses with flat beds to sleep on compared to reclining chairs on buses. Even if you buy a “direct bus” ticket it is likely that you will have to change bus during the journey. If you are short of time, you can take an internal flight from Bangkok to Surat Thani.
What activities can you do at this Thailand tree house in Khao Sok?
Whether you are looking for a chilled out peaceful retreat in your Thailand tree house retreat or an active jungle adventure, this Khao Sok Thailand Eco resort offers everything.
1 Jungle yoga classes
They wouldn’t be an authentic Thailand Eco resort if they didn’t have their own yoga teacher. You can take a range of yoga classes throughout the day from 7am – 8pm. Classes offer a range of levels of yoga from beginners to experienced yogis. Our jungle camp has a dedicated raised yoga studio, so you can enjoy yoga sessions surrounded by the sights and sounds of the jungle canopy. Yoga classes cost THB 540 per person.
2 Learn Thai cooking
Our Jungle Camp Thailand Eco resort even offers Organic Bamboo Thai cooking classes, where you can learn to an ENTIRE gourmet meal over a fire using bamboo! This course is very unique as you also visit the farm to select fresh ingredients and spices. The course costs THB 800 per person. You can also take a bamboo jungle cooking class, cooking delicious dishes in carved out bamboo over a fire in the jungle for THB 650 per person.

3 Visit the organic eco farm
Our Jungle Camp has an organic farm supplying fresh food to the resort and is used to teach locals sustainable agricultural practices. The organic farm is free to visit for guests. Ask at reception during your stay for more details.
4 Ethical elephant encounters
The elephant sanctuary is home to rescued and retired elephants from the logging and entertainment industry. Elephants are well looked after and not over crowded by visitors. If you visit the sanctuary you can take part in feeding, playing and bathing the elephants. Our Jungle Camp has a no riding policy for elephants. A visit to the elephant sanctuary takes around 3 hours and costs THB 1,490 per person. This is is the strongest genuine and supportive link between a Thailand Eco resort and support of local rescued elephants we have seen.
5 Khao Sok Lake Boat rides
You can arrange boat rides to explore both the river and the Khao Sok lake in the national park. A great way to appreciate the beautiful scenery and spot wildlife from a different perspective. You can also do kayaking tours for a more active way to explore that national park. Expect to pay THB 500 for tubing and THB 800 for kayaking tours. 6 Trekking in Khao Sok
The Khao Sok national park boasts excellent biodiversity including many rare and protected species. You can also visit caves, hotsprings, waterfalls, climb peaks and explore the Cheow Lan lake. If you want to experience the jungle by night you can also take a guided night safari with local guides who are excellent at navigating and spotting night wildlife in the jungle.
The cost of treks depends on the itinerary and length of the trek. The cost of guided treks range from THB 900 for a half day trek to THB 2,500 for an overnight trek including camping.
7 Thai massage
No stay in a Thailand Eco resort would be complete without a relaxing Thai massage. The Thai style of massage uses pressure, kneading and manipulation to release tension and relax deep muscle tissue. Our jungle camp offer Thai massages for THB 500 per person. After a relaxing night in this beautiful Thailand tree house and a Thai massage you are going to feel like a new person.
What is the food like at this Thailand Eco Resort Khao Sok?
The food is one of the highlights of our jungle camp treehouse hotel. This tasty Thailand Eco Resort has an onsite restaurant and bar. Many of the ingredients are grown onsite in the organic farm or sources very locally. They serve a range of Thai and international dishes. Food is well presented, fresh and delicious. What are the staff like at Our Jungle Camp?
The staff at the treehouse hotel are friendly, helpful and welcome guests with warm Thai hospitality. All staff speak English and bring a range of skills to the community. As an employer Our Jungle Camp treat local staff like family and the staff in turn extend that warm welcome to guests.
How Eco Friendly is this Thailand Eco Resort?
From your first glance, to the hidden bits you don’t see, Our Jungle Camp has a genuine commitment to sustainability, local projects and environmental protection. Truly a great example of what a Eco resort Thailand can be. Our jungle camp has an organic farm that offers employment to local farmers and provides healthy, fresh food for the restaurant. This makes for amazing meals onsite with zero carbon footprint.
It’s more than just the aesthetic for this Thailand Eco Resort. All of the buildings have earthy natural vibes – built from bamboo, hardwoods and renewable materials. If you’re reading this you will probably be glad to learn that you won’t find air conditioning or TVs in your room. We would hope if you want an authentic Thailand Tree House experience you wouldn’t really want these things anyway.
This really is the perfect place to acclimate to the tropical environment, tune into the natural beauty and the sounds of the surrounding jungle. Our jungle camp also aims to keep the use of plastics to a minimum and tries to minimise waste. You will notice small details like the lack of plastic bottles and straws and the use of biodegradable materials.
One of the reasons we love eco travel is the opportunities to give back. Our Jungle Camp is committed to investing in the local community and educating future leaders in sustainability and conservation. They really are do much more than most Thailand Eco resorts; in fact more than most eco hotels in the world. Of course it is fun and novel to stay in a Thailand Tree House and that is the big draw, but they offer so much more.
They offer a free onsite nature camp for local school children. In these nature camps local school children explore the jungle and learn about sustainable development. Activities include nature walks, tree plantation, growing and using local herbs, learning organic farming, caring for elephants and wildlife spotting.

As you walk up the road on the way to our Jungle Camp (from the bus drop off point) you will see the Jungle Treehouse Resort on the right. They have an amazing canopy walkway with breathtaking views of the area. It costs 100 baht for non-guests of the Treehouse Resort. Definitely worth dropping by if you have a chance.
When is the best time of year to visit Khao Sok National Park?
November – April is high season in Khao Sok national park. The weather is generally hot and sunny with low rainfall. If you are keen to see the waterfalls at their best or go tubing, we recommend visiting in September – October at the end of the rainy season where river levels are high but the weather is also improving. What ever the season, these Thailand tree houses have a way of staying at a beautiful climate up in the trees.
Is Our Jungle Camp family friendly?
Our jungle camp is a super family friendly Thailand eco resort. They provide cots, high chairs in the restaurant and can arrange transfers for families. The children of guests may also be allowed to participate in Nature Camp activities with local school children. They have a strong genuine family friendly vibe. Naturally you would want to be careful staying in the higher Thailand tree houses with children, but it is totally possible and pretty exciting!
Can you find shops and ATM machines near Our Jungle Camp?
Our jungle camp treehouse hotel is a short walk (around 1km) from Khao Sok village which has cafe’s, shops, restaurants and ATM machines.
Is there wifi at Our Jungle Camp?
Free Wifi access is also available at the reception, bar and restaurant area. Phone Reception and 4G internet connectivity is available throughout the resort grounds. Not that wifi us your main reason for going, but please do note the wifi isn’t that strong in some of the rooms, but really, this is a place to unplug.
What amenities are available at Our Jungle Camp Thailand Tree House?
Complimentary purified water is available in guest rooms, at the restaurant, and bar. You need to use your own bottle to minimise waste. The Thailand Tree Houses and Bungalow Rooms have a safe deposit box. There are also safety deposit boxes at reception and a baggage storage room. Check in is at 2pm and check out is at 11am and you can store baggage at reception before or after your check in and check out times.
