If you are looking for THE BEST hotels in Phuket for a toddler then start looking in the right areas. Some areas of Phuket are more toddler friendly than others. The best areas in Phuket for a toddler are Kata bay, Nai Harn Bay, Patong Bay, Mai Khao Bay and Phuket town. Bang Tao bay also has some great toddler friendly resorts.

Kata bay 

This is one of our favorite areas of Phuket. Kata is also home to some of the best hotels in Phuket for a toddler (we’ll come back to that soon)

We actually lived in Kata with toddlers and loved it. There is a play park, lots of shops, restaurants and a few convenience stores. Kata is also has its fair share of hidden gems. You can get Thai food and western food. There is a very good selection of hotels at various budget ranges. Kata beach is one of our favourite beaches in Phuket. Also it is not too far from Phuket town. There is also some lovely trekking in the area. The main frustration with Kata is the town layout. There is a long section of road through town with no roads that connect to the beach. Sigh, paradise problems! 

Nai Harn Bay 

Nai Harn is amazing for families with toddlers. We love the vibe of this area. Nai Harn is located on the south tip of Phuket. There are lots of families living here already as this is an expat hub. The Nai Harn area has nice vibes with lots of yoga and vegan places. Nai Harn beach is also very nice too. There is also a park with a playpark (Rawai Chaloem Phra Kiat park) and you can also find several convenience stores in the area.

Patong Bay 

Patong is best known for its clubs, bars, markets and nightlife. This area is also great for families too! There is a mall, plenty of shops, restaurants, cafes and convenience stores. Patong Beach is a long and beautiful beach with restaurants along the way. Patong may be too touristy for some travellers. If you would like to stay in an area with plenty of people on Good Vibes then Patong bay may be the best option for you. 

Mai Khao 

Mai Khao Bay is located on the north west coast of Phuket. This is a great area for families with toddlers If you are looking for a luxurious resort to stay on. Many of the results are equipped with facilities for toddlers such as play rooms, outdoor swimming pools, playgrounds, kids clubs and babysitting services. It is worth being aware that this area is a long way from Phuket town on some of the attractions in the south of Phuket. Furthermore, you will not find as much cheap tasty local street food in the area. If you are hoping to immerse yourself in Thai culture we recommend looking at some of the areas in the south of Phuket. 

Phuket town 

Another great place to stay in Phuket with toddlers is Phuket town. The main disadvantage of Phuket town is the distance from beaches. If you are visiting Phuket to be close to the ocean then we do not recommend staying in Phuket town. However, Phuket town is a great place to stay for families. There are plenty of shops, markets, convenience stores and restaurants. You can also find some great attractions and Phuket Town such as Khao Rang Hill. There are also some play parks around too (the play park at K-Park Is particularly good for toddlers). In Phuket town you can also go to the Phuket Central Floresta Mall for shopping, food and indoor soft play centres.

The Laguna Holiday Club Resort is one of the best luxury hotels in Phuket for a toddler. This resort is very impressive. The Laguna has outstanding toddler friendly facilities. Your little ones will love the outdoor playground, outdoor kids swimming pool, a waterslide and the indoor soft play spaces. The grounds for the Laguna provide plenty of space for running around and fresh air. Relax on their private beach, chill by the pool or play golf. There really is something for everyone at the Laguna.

Also, don’t miss the epic Blue Tree Waterpark and Blue Tree Adventure Village – a short drive from the Laguna. The Blue Tree Adventure village is THE BEST indoor soft play space for toddlers in Phuket. The only downside of the Laguna is the location. There aren’t many temples, markets, shops or street food in the area. So if you want to embrace the Thai vibes – we recommend looking at a location like Kata beach or Phuket town. CHECK the latest prices at the Laguna.

What are the best rooms at the Laguna for a toddler?

We love the apartment-style suites at the Laguna. Enjoy the comforts and convenience of home, immersed in tropical paradise. Suites are equipped with living rooms and comfortable furniture, kitchenettes, and spacious bedrooms with comfortable beds. With a toddler we particularly recommend the Junior Suite with Kitchenette. This is one of the cheaper suites at the Laguna. BUT the space is perfect for a small family with a toddler. Your toddler could sleep in your room with a cot or in the living room on a sofa bed. 

The Laguna Holiday Club really does welcome families with young kids. We love their cot and extra beds policy. For kids 0 – 2 years old a FREE cot is available on request. For kids 3 – 5 years old they can also provide an additional bed for FREE. This is an amazingly generous family friendly policy. 

Overall this really is one of the best hotels in Phuket for a toddler.

2 OZO Phuket (Kata Bay)

The OZO Phuket is a family friendly hotel located near Kata Beach. OZO is one of the best hotels in Phuket for a toddler. Rooms are spacious, clean and very well designed. OZO has excellent toddler friendly facilities. There is an outdoor playground with soft tiles and a super fun kids splash pool (shallow enough for a toddler). They also have a kids pool with waterslide and an adults pool.

The OZO restaurant is spacious and well designed with high chairs, indoor and outdoor seating areas and a very tasty kids menu. We were very impressed with the food at OZO – the quality and selection are very good. OZO also offer a range of packages and experiences for families. Whether you want to learn paddle boarding or take a beach BBQ. OZO can set you up. WATCH OUT for deals at OZO on Agoda.

The location is excellent. OZO Phuket is right next to Kata beach – one of our favorite beaches in Phuket. They even have a convenient back gate allowing super quick and convenient beach access. 

What are the best rooms at OZO for a toddler?

The cheapest option for a family with a toddler is the Deluxe King Suite – with a double bed. For a child 0-3 years old they can include an additional cot in the room free of charge. For a larger family check out the Deluxe Family two bedroom suite. This suite is spacious and excellently designed for comfort, convenience and luxury. It has 2 single beds, 1 extra large double bed and a cot is available on request. 

How toddler friendly is OZO Phuket?

• Can a toddler stay for free with you? No, but they only charge a small amount extra on the room price to include a toddler. 

• Can you get an airport transfer with a toddler seat included? 

• Do rooms have refrigerators? Yes, rooms have a refrigerator

• Do rooms have air conditioning? Yes, the air conditioning system in the rooms is very good

• Do rooms have good blinds? Yes rooms have excellent curtains for a good night’s sleep

• Do they have cots or extra beds available? Yes, they can include an additional cot free of charge for children 0-3 years old.

• What facilities do they have for a toddler? Outdoor swimming pool, splash pool, playground. They also include free kids welcome packs with some room types. 

• What rooms are available for a family? A small family with a toddler can stay in any room. For a larger family with a toddler we recommend the Deluxe Family Two Bedroom Suite. 

• Can you get rooms with a bathtub? No, rooms don’t include bathtubs. The shower is very good at OZO. 

• Do they have an indoor play space for toddlers? No, but there are indoor spaces that work well for families. 

• Do they have a shallow toddler friendly swimming pool? Yes, they have an awesome splash pool with lots of fun water features including a mini-toddler friendly water slide!

• Do they have a restaurant with a kids menu? Yes, the kids food is very good at OZO

• Are there high chairs available? Yes, the restaurant has high chairs.

• Are there kids clubs? No, OZO Phuket do not offer kids clubs. 

• Do they have a baby sitting service? Yes, OZO Phuket offer a baby sitting service for an additional charge. 

• Can they arrange toddler friendly trips and activities? Yes, OZO Phuket can hook you up with some awesome family friendly trips and tours. 

• Are there staircases or other risks you need to watch out for? There are staircases. But the main way to travel between floors is by elevator. Watch out for the Deluxe Family Bunk Bed Suite – if you’re toddler is anything like ours they will inevitably want to climb to the top bunk. Not the most relaxing thing with a toddler!

• What toddler friendly activities can you find nearby OZO Phuket is right next to the beautiful Kata beach. Nearby don’t miss the Pillow and a Blanket cafe (a hidden gem in the area). Kata is also close to the Karon bay viewpoint, the Black Rock trekking area and the Big Buddha. 

• Where is the closest playground? On site. 

• Where is the closest beach? A 3 minute walk away (use the back gate)

• Where is the closest convenience store? There is a Seven Eleven convenience store around 5-10 minutes walk from the OZO Phuket hotel. 

• What is transport like in the area? Transport is pretty good in the area. It is easy to find motorbikes, tuk tuks, taxis and Songthaews. 

3 The Beach Boutique House (Kata Bay)

The beach Boutique House Hotel one of THE BEST mid range hotels in Phuket for a toddler. The Beach Boutique Hotel offers pool access rooms and has several outdoor swimming pools including a kids pool. Rooms are clean and well-designed offering a safe comfortable stay for a family with a toddler.

There is an indoor kids playroom suitable for toddlers and an indoor fitness suite at this hotel. At reception you can order hot drinks – start your day with that essential coffee. Right next to the Beach Boutique Hotel is a self-service laundrette including washing machines and dryers.

There is also water filling machines so you can fill up your water bottle. Nearby you can find convenience stores and some lovely local street food as well. The beach Boutique Hotel also has an on-site restaurant serving a selection of Thai and western food. 

The Beach Boutique House Hotel offers a free shuttle bus service to the beach. The walk to the beach from this hotel is roughly 10-15 minutes. The Beach Boutique is one of the best hotels in Phuket for a toddler if you’re on a mid-range budget.

What rooms are there for a toddler at the Beach Boutique hotel?

The Beach Boutique House Hotel has a very good range of rooms and Suites to accommodate your family. They offer double or twin rooms. This is quite a tall hotel and some of the higher floors offer a great view. You can select pool view rooms or mountain view rooms. You can SNATCH UP awesome deals at the Beach Boutique on Agoda.

They also have a two bedroom family suite. This impressive suite has a double bed and two single beds.

How toddler friendly is the Beach Boutique House?

• Can a toddler stay for free with you? No, the price will go up when you add a toddler to your booking. We recommend adding all kids to your booking – unless you contact the hotel directly to request a free stay for your toddler. 

• Can you get an airport transfer with a toddler seat included? No, this hotel does not offer an airport transfer.

• Do rooms have refrigerators? Yes, rooms have a refrigerator. 

• Do rooms have air conditioning? Yes, each room has an air conditioning unit

• Do rooms have good blinds? Rooms don’t have blackout blinds but they do have good curtains

• Do they have cots available? Yes, they can include a FREE cot on request for children 0-2 years old

• Can you get an extra bed? Yes, they can add extra beds at this property. Additional beds cost 400 baht per night per child. For children over 12 years old they charge 500 baht per night

• What facilities do they have for a toddler? They have an indoor kids play room (not massive but nice). They also have a kids swimming pool. There is a self service laundrette right outside which includes driers

• What rooms are available for a family? They offer a range of rooms and suites. This includes a two bedroom family suite

• Can you get rooms with a bathtub? No, none of the rooms include bathtubs at this hotel. They have showers in the bathrooms

• Are there staircases or other risks you need to watch out for? There are staircases at this hotel but the main way to get up and down the hotel is to use the lifts. This property is pretty safe for a toddler. Kids should be carefully supervised near the pool and always be very careful of balconies and windows. 

• What toddler friendly activities can you find nearby? This hotel is not far from Kata beach. There is also a kids play park located at the other side of Kata beach.  

• Where is the closest playground? The closest playground is around 2km at the other side of Kata beach.

• Where is the closest beach? Kata beach is roughly 10-15 minute walk from this hotel.

• Where is the closest convenience store? There is a seven eleven around 5 minutes walk from this hotel. Or may be 10 minutes with a toddler! 

• What is transport like in the area? Transport connections aren’t great here. You will generally need to rely on taxis or have your own transport. Use a taxi app like Grab or Bolt. Kata is not too far from Chalong and Phuket town. 

4 Nawaporn Place Guest House (Phuket town)

If you are looking for the best hotels in Phuket for a toddler – on a BUDGET then check out Nawaporn Place in Phuket town.

Nawaporn place is a budget hotel located in Phuket town. Clean, cheap and an excellent location. Lots of great toddler friendly things nearby. Plenty of local food in the area and very close to a convenience store. It is excellently located near the old town, bus station and plenty of shops and activities can be found nearby. 

Nawaporn Place Is genuinely a budget hotel. Therefore, it does not have many facilities for families. However, we were impressed with the washing machine right outside the hotel and the drying space on the roof for clothes. This means that you can do cheap laundry very quickly. Essential if you are traveling on a budget with a toddler.

What rooms are there for a toddler?

They offer a twin room, double room and a superior studio. Prices typically range between £15 – £30 per night. They offer a good free cancellation policy (check this when you book). Rooms are clean and reasonably spacious. When you book this property with a toddler, it may suggest the Superior Studio. To be honest you don’t get a lot more for the additional cost.

The Superior Studio Studio seems to offer more space and an additional sofa. But this sofa is probably not suitable to use as a bed. So it’s probably not work paying for the Superior Studio. We would recommend a double or twin. Drop them a message to ask if they might be able to add an additional mattress to your room. The space and location of this hotel work very well for a family with a toddler. 

TOP TIP: You will struggle to find a trip in Phuket for these types of prices. We have recommended this place because we found that they were willing to add an additional mattress for free. Considering the location of this hotel, it becomes an excellent option if they are willing to add an extra mattress to one of their twin or double rooms. 

How toddler friendly is Nawaporn place?

• Can a toddler stay for free with you? Yes – a toddler can stay for free. Make sure you add the toddler when you make a booking (it shouldn’t increase the price of your room)

• Can you get an airport transfer with a toddler seat included? No, this property does not offer an airport transfer service.

• Do rooms have refrigerators? Yes, rooms have a refrigerator.  

• Do rooms have air conditioning? Yes, rooms come equipped with an air conditioning unit. 

• Do rooms have good blinds? Rooms have curtains. You can keep your room reasonably dark if needed. 

• Do they have cots available? No, Nawaporn hotel cannot add a cot to your room. This is fairly normal for budget hotels in Phuket. If you really need a cot you will need to find a more expensive hotel or consider a travel cot. 

• Can you get an extra bed? No, there is no capacity for extra beds at the property. If you ask really nicely they may be able to add a mattress to your room – but there is no guarantee of this. 

• What facilities do they have for a toddler? There is a washing machine straight outside this hotel (pay a small amount to use this). They also have clothes drying space on the roof. The hosts are very welcoming to families. 

• What rooms are available for a family? They only offer double and twin rooms here. You may need to bed share at this end of the budget. You can also ask about adding a mattress to your room. 

• Can you get rooms with a bathtub? No, they do have hot showers in the rooms. But there are no bathtub rooms. 

• Do they have an indoor play space for toddlers? No. Most rooms have sufficient space for a family. But there are no dedicated play space on site. 

• Do they have a shallow toddler friendly swimming pool? No, at this price you will generally not find swimming pools available. 

• Do they have a restaurant with a kids menu? No, there are no restaurants on site. But there is plenty of great local food nearby. They do offer free coffee at the reception. Just the parent essentials. 

• Are there high chairs available? No, there are no high chairs available on site at Nawaporn place. 

• Are there kids clubs? No, there are no kids clubs in a budget hotel like this. 

• Do they have a baby sitting service? No, Nawaporn Place does not have any baby sitting services available. 

• Can they arrange toddler friendly trips and activities? No, there is no tour desk at this hotel. However the staff are very helpful and willing to offer advice about local attractions. 

• Are there staircases or other risks you need to watch out for? Yes, there is a staircase at Nawaporn Place. Toddlers will need supervision. There are no lifts available at this hotel. Some rooms have tile floors and other rooms have laminate. Laminate is safer for a toppling toddler. 

• What toddler friendly activities can you find nearby? At K-park there is an awesome cafe and an outdoor kids play park. This park is enclosed and has soft grass. It also has a sun shade. Nawaporn Place is only a short drive from Phuket Central Floresta which has a great indoor kids play space. A great spot for food and shopping. Also don’t miss Khao Rang, and the night market nearby. 

• Where is the closest playground? The closest good playground is at K Park. Around 15 minute walk from Nawaporn Place. 

• Where is the closest beach? The main disadvantage of staying in Phuket town is the distance from the beach. The best beach close to Phuket town is Ao Yon beach. This is a nice, clean and relatively quiet beach. It takes around 20-30 minutes to get to Ao Yon by road from Phuket town. 

• Where is the closest convenience store? There is a Seven Eleven convenience store approximately 5 minute walk from Nawaporn place. They sell nappies, milk, snacks, toys and lots more. 

• What is transport like in the area? Transport is great in this area. Nawaporn Place is right next to the bus station – great for cheap connections to other destinations AND the airport bus. You can also use the Grab or Bolt app to get taxis – cheap, fast and convenient.
