In this article, we will tell you everything you need to know about Flight of Dreams to help you plan your visit.
You can visit Flight of Dreams if you are arriving, departing, or just have a short layover. Flight of Dreams is great for adults and also families. Entry is free, and you could easily spend a full morning or afternoon here. We were fortunate enough to spend some time living in Tokename Village, which is a short train ride from this airport. Flight of Dreams Opening Hours
Flight of Dreams is open daily from 10 am – 5 pm. It is free to enter, although you can pay for additional experiences such as the flight simulator or the Mokumo Cloud Play Space. If you have a long layover there are a couple of hotels situated at the airport. Check out Comfort Hotel Central International Airport – this is a great place to get some well needed rest with spacious clean luxurious rooms and a nice breakfast!
Where is Flight of Dreams located?
Flight of Dreams is located in Terminal 2, Chubu Centrair International Airport in Nagoya. It is possible to walk between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, and there is also a free shuttle bus. Flight of Dreams is located outside of the customs and immigration.
If you are visiting this airport on a layover, you will need to exit through immigration in order to visit Flight of Dreams. We recommend that you check the visa and entry requirements for Japan for your country.
What are the facilities like at Flight of Dreams?
In true Japanese style, the facilities and amenities at Flight of Dreams are absolutely outstanding. There are lockers (FREE available from 10am – 5pm), toilets, and a gift shop at the entrance. You can also find a range of restaurants and coffee shops in the area. A Starbucks overlooks Flight of Dreams. There is also a water dispenser outside the restaurants where you can top up your water bottle.
What can you see and do at Flight of Dreams?
1 Boeing 787 Dreamliner
The main attraction at Flight of Dreams is a decommissioned Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Walking around the spectacular aircraft enables you to appreciate the impressive size of commercial airlines. You can walk up to the landing gear, walk under the wings and jets, taking photos and enjoying the plane from different perspectives.
It is also free to go up the steps and enter a demonstration cockpit where you can see aircraft controls and the pilot seats. You can also see an information board to help you identify the different controls in the cockpit.
2 Free kids play spaces
Flight of Dreams has some free kids play spaces. These play spaces are geared towards younger children with miniature ball pits, climbing frames, and interactive activities. Careful parental supervision is essential because this is an open space area.
There are no tickets, limitations, or restrictions to use the free kids play spaces. Kids can move freely between the spaces and explore. We recommend the spaces for kids between 1 – 8 years old. Careful supervision is needed.
3 Air travel museum
Flight of Dreams is the perfect place for aviation geeks. You can also find a range of displays, exhibits, and information boards to help you learn about the history, science, and technology in the commercial airline industry.
4 Mokumo Cloud Play Space
There is also a paid kids play space which has a slide, trampoline, and climbing nets. The paid play space is ideal for older kids (3 – 12 years old). Infants 0 – 2 years old are not allowed (even with an adult). This can be pretty awkward if you are traveling with younger kids. Preschoolers older than 3 require parental supervision. Elementary school children can play independently. The play space costs 500 yen for a full day pass and 300 yen for one entry. One adult can enter for free per child.
5 Flight simulator experience
And finally, don’t miss the Flight of Dreams flight simulator experience. Put yourself in the pilot seat and experience what it is really like to fly a Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Fifteen minutes costs 3,850 yen (kids 8-15 pay 3,850 yen). You need to be at least 130 cm tall to see the view from the cockpit. If you’re interested in trying the flight simulator, you need to purchase tickets from the Flight of Dreams gift shop situated close to the entrance.

1 Airport Viewing Deck
Whilst you are at this airport, don’t miss the airport viewing deck where you can see aeroplanes taxiing around the airfield and get excellent views of planes taking off and landing on the runway. The airport viewing deck is 3 to enter, and it is located in Terminal 1.
2 Tokoname Pottery Village
