If you’re planning to visit Palawan in 2025, you will probably spend a few days in Puerto Princesa. If so, we definitely recommend taking a visit to the Puerto Princesa City Baywalk. This is a beautiful beach promenade with street food stalls, restaurants, and a range of esoteric entertainment.

What can you do at Puerto Princesa Baywalk
Here are a few things that you can do in the area:
- Enjoy the atmosphere at sunset
- Grab a coffee and enjoy the view
- Tuck into a delicious seafood platter
- Rent a bicycle and cycle along the Promenade (there is a bicycle rental place located near the entrance)
- Buy some gifts and souvenirs from the Night Market near the entrance
What is the best time to visit Puerto Princesa City Baywalk?
The Princesa City Baywalk is open 7 days a week. It is free to visit. The first restaurants and stores start to open around 2 pm. However, at this time, it is a pretty hot and exposed area. If possible, we recommend visiting late afternoon or early evening. By 6 pm, most of the stores, restaurants, and kiosks are open, and the area has a nice, sociable vibe.
How do you get to Baywalk in Puerto Princesa?
The cheapest and most convenient way to get to the Puerto Princesa City Baywalk is to use a tricycle (Tuk Tuk). These are convenient and readily available around Puerto Princesa. Expect to pay around 35 – 100 pesos depending exactly on where you are coming from and also on your ability to barter. There are plenty of tricycles (Tuk Tuks) waiting in the area until late in the evening, so you don’t need to prearrange your return journey. Just find a driver when you are ready to go.
What food and drink is available at the Puerto Princesa City Baywalk?
There is a very wide range of food available at Baywalk, especially if you arrive early in the evening. You can find snacks such as popcorn and ice cream.
There are several seafood restaurants serving a range of seafood platters (these are very impressive). They offer a wide range of barbecued fish and other seafood, including giant shrimp, squid, and shellfish. You can also find plenty of street food stalls selling a wide range of local and international street food, including things like chicken, rice, and pizzas.
We particularly recommend the seafood platters at Kusina Sa Bay Bay. We enjoyed this restaurant so much that we actually came here twice. You can get meal sets for around 700 pesos (perfect for a large hungry family). This is roughly £10 or $12. Alternatively, you can select specific items and create your own platter. They also offer unlimited rice with your food. It can take a little while to prepare your food, especially during busy times, so remember to order your food early.
If you love Korean food, don’t miss Samgyup Bay Cafe. The Korean BBQ is particularly good, and prices are very reasonable, with sets starting at around 180 pesos (around £2.50 or $3). Alternatively, if you love a good coffee, don’t miss Lato Coffee and Restaurant (right next to Samgyup Bay Cafe).
Is it worth visiting the Puerto Princesa City Baywalk?
Although we don’t like to be unnecessarily negative, we do like to be honest and realistic. The Puerto Princesa Baywalk is a nice area to visit if you have a free evening in Puerto Princesa. However, we would not count it amongst the top attractions in the area. So if you don’t get time to visit, don’t sweat it.
