Red Pearl has the benefit of a beautiful jungle location surrounded by stunning jungle hills. It also has a private beach. Red Pearl offers clean, stylish and spacious bungalows.

Firstly, it’s important to know that Red Pearl has not been designed specifically for families. So you wont find a playground or the normal kids facilities and amenities here. BUT… loads of features make Red Pearl the best resort in Koh Phangan for families…
Here is why we think Red Pearl is the best resort in Koh Phangan for families:
- The prices are amazing for what you get – very important for families
- Clean new and freshly renovated bungalows
- They are happy to add an extra mattress to your room to accommodate families
- Beds are very comfortable by Thai standards and rooms are cleaned regularly
- Rooms are pretty baby proof with surfaces and spaces to keep things out of kids way
- Showers have a digital temperature control and there is a lot of space in the bathroom
- Located in a quiet area for undisturbed rest (as long as your little ones sleep well)
- Independent bungalows mean you don’t need to worry about disturbing other guests
- Rooms have a fridge – great for storing milk, snacks and a much needed bottle of something strong
- Balcony space is perfect for some relaxing time after your kids are in bed
- Nice green space for kids to play
- Beach area has shaded seating and tables
- The beach leads to relatively calm shallow waters and enjoys a lot of privacy
- The menu serves western and eastern food for excellent prices
- The staff are super friendly, very helpful and speak amazing English
- The pool has a small baby pool to the side and a shallow section
- The layout of buildings and spaces makes it relatively easy to keep an eye on little ones
- Relatively close to Haad Khom bay and Bottle Beach
- Table tennis room
- They can hook you up with boat transfers, taxis and tours at Red Pearl
Red Pearl is owned by a French couple who are super lovely and very welcoming to families and children. They have been amongst the kindest and warmest hosts we have stayed with.
What are the negatives of Red Pearl resort for families?
To be honest it’s pretty hard to find any negatives. Even though it’s not a purpose built family resort, we think that Red Pearl is the best resort in Koh Phangan for families.
Because Red Pearl is a small secluded resort it doesn’t have all of the facilities and amenities for kids that you normally find in bigger more expensive resorts (e.g. kids clubs, play parks etc…). So Red Pearl is the type of place where you can chill as a family. Also, we recommend having your own transport for Red Pearl if possible. Consider car or bike rental as it would be a challenging walk to get to Chaloklum (the closest town). You can get taxis in Koh Phangan but this is not as convenient. It is likely to cost 100 – 200 baht for most taxi journeys from Red Pearl Resort. The hill bungalows are better for a good view but the steps are steep – which is not great for families with younger kids.
Where is Red Pearl located?
Red Pearl is located to the east of Chaloklum on the north coast of Koh Phangan. This is a great location in Koh Phangan for families – quiet, beautiful with access to clean serene paradise beaches.
How do you book Red Pearl?
You can normally stay in a WHOLE BUNGALOW for around £20 per night at Red Pearl (roughly 1,000 baht or $25). Keep your eye open for discounts on Agoda.
