Locals sit on the streets until late into the night enjoying drinks and desserts together. There are also plenty of things to do in the Hanoi old quarter: beautiful history, charming buildings and most importantly there is plenty of amazing affordable street food in Hanoi!

Trang Tien Hostel is one of the cheapest old quarter hotels in Hanoi. This small hostel is simple, clean and comfortable. There are two main options at this hostel, you can either take a bed in the 6 bed shared dormitory or you can book a private double room. The deluxe double room offers secure, private accommodation with an ensuite bathroom.
Alternatively, if you are staying on a very low budget the dormitories are very well designed with capsule-style sleeping pods. These pods are spacious (room for two people plus some bags as well), they are well designed and offer a good level of privacy. Trang Tien Hostel also offers a laundry service. Overall, this budget accommodation offers excellent value for money and a comfortable place to sleep.
2 Golden Time Hostel

Golden time hostel is located right in the heart of the Hanoi old quarter. This is probably one of the best old quarter hotels in Hanoi for great value for money. This small hostel offers a range of private rooms including air conditioning, double and twin bed options and ensuite bathrooms. It is worth being aware that the rooms are relatively small, but we found the space sufficient for storing bags and sharing is a family.
A big advantage of golden time hostel is that there is a family room with two double beds. If your family is willing and able to bed share the family room can sleep up to 4 people. This is a great option for families on a budget. The staff behind the desk are very friendly and helpful and they are able to give you information and advice about local attractions and tours. They also offer a laundry service at Golden time hostel.
3 Kingdom Hotel Hanoi
Price range: £20 – £50
Maximum Capacity: 4 people (family room with two double beds)
Kingdom hotel is on the lower end of the budget range for Hanoi, and it offers excellent value for money. Kingdom Hotel is excellently located in the heart of the Old Town – very close to plenty of street food, cafes and bars. Although it is a very busy bustling area with bars outside, the rooms are still relatively quiet due to the use of double glazing.
This hotel is on the lower end of the budget range so don’t expect perfection! Kingdom hotel can offer a good night’s sleep for good prices. They also have a family room with two double beds. If your family is willing to bed share, you could sleep up to 4 people in this room.
4 Hanoi Saga Hotel

The Hanoi Saga hotel is a beautiful and stylish mid-range hotel located in the Hanoi Old Town. Rooms are stylishly decorated and have large french windows allowing plenty of natural light. This hotel is located along a small alleyway, which can be a little bit tricky to find.
We are particularly impressed with the triple room at this hotel. They have a large double bed and a sofa bed. This triple room could sleep up to 3 people. There is also a private ensuite bathroom including a bathtub.

Rooms are stylish, spacious and very comfortable. This hotel is excellently located in the heart of the old quarter and it is on a small quiet street.
