This is a beautiful, vibrant and modern 5-star high rise hotel located to the southwest of Hanoi. Novotel offers large, comfortable rooms and suites with large windows and amazing city views. Novotel has excellent facilities including an outdoor swimming pool, fitness centre, bar and spa.
We are particularly impressed with the space and amenities in the Executive Apartment with king bed and sofa bed. This spacious suite is amazing value for money – generally coming in around the £200 mark. The spacious apartment also has a large double bed and a sofa bed and can sleep up to 3 people.
There are two restaurants on site: The food exchange and the Gourmet bar, serving a wide variety of Vietnamese, Asian and international cuisine. The Novotel Hanoi also offers a very good buffet breakfast which is generally included with your room, however we always recommend checking this before you book. The main disadvantage of the Novotel is the distance from the Hanoi old quarter. The journey is around 5km. Overall, Novotel is a very good option if you are looking for a 5 star hotel that offers great value for money.
2 Smarana Hanoi Heritage

The Smarana Hanoi Heritage is one of the BEST 5 star hotels in Hanoi for character, charm and style. This hotel offers amazing value for money. We love the unique romantic, artistic, Asian-Zen interior design style. This is genuinely one of the most impressive 5 star hotels around.
This beautiful decadent hotel is filled with impressive Asian artwork and luxurious furniture. rooms and Suites are beautifully decorated and take the theme of one of the Four Seasons. rooms have an impressive variety of furniture and amenities to make your stay comfortable and luxurious.
We are particularly impressed with the presidential suite. the spacious suite has a large double bed, and ensuite bathroom with bathtub and the balcony with a beautiful city view. the room is tastefully designed with vibrant Asian artwork.
this hotel also offers a delicious breakfast with rooms the perfect way to get a great start to the day. there is one on-site restaurant serving a wide range of Vietnamese, Asian and international cuisine. overall this is one of the most stylish 5-star hotels in Hanoi, pretty amazing for the relatively low prices.

Melia Hanoi is an excellent 5 star hotel located in the Hanoi old quarter, a short walk from the Hoan Kiem lake. Melia has a clean, simple and light interior design theme. This hotel is a high-rise, affording excellent views of the Hanoi old quarter.
This hotel offers a very good range of facilities and amenities. There is an outdoor swimming pool, an impressive gym with a jacuzzi and steam room, and there is also an on-site restaurant serving a wide range of cuisine including Vietnamese, Japanese, Chinese and western.
The Melia Hanoi also has an excellent range of rooms and Suites to choose from. The hotel has a simple interior design theme. rooms are in excellent condition and very comfortable. Overall this is a very good 5-star hotel if you want to be in an excellent location with good facilities and amenities. Also, this is on the lower end of the budget range for five star hotels in Hanoi making it a great choice if you’re looking for a splash of luxury without spending too much.
4 Peridot Grand Luxury Boutique Hotel

The Peridot Grand Luxury Boutique hotel is an amazing 5-star hotel in Hanoi. The interior design is an eclectic 1900s theme with vibrant and striking artwork.
The Peridot Grand offers an impressive range of amenities and facilities including a rooftop swimming pool. This is very unique for Hanoi. The Peridot grand luxury hotel also offers terraces, and common spaces with luxurious furniture and stylish artwork.
We are particularly impressed with the grand balcony suite. This spacious suite has an en-suite bathroom including a bathtub, luxurious furniture and a large comfortable double bed. large windows and for plenty of natural light and beautiful views of Hanoi.
The food at the Peridot is absolutely excellent – two onsite restaurants serve European and Asian cuisine. This hotel also offers an excellent buffet breakfast, as ever check that this is included when you book. Furthermore, the staff are absolutely amazing at this hotel. Whether you are looking for help with local information or booking tours, the staff at this hotel will do everything they can to make your stay relaxing and enjoyable.
5 Dolce by Wyndham Hanoi Golden Lake
Price range: £130 – £550
The Dolce hotel is one of the most unique 5 star hotels around. There is a running theme of gold throughout the hotel. Golden tea cups, golden sinks, golden toilets and every room has a golden bathtub! The Dolce hotel has a glam regal ambiance. It also has a rooftop infinity pool with an excellent view.
This is also a great option for families. The executive suite sleeps up to 5 people with an extra large double bed, two single beds and the sofa bed. They can also include a cot for 0-2 year olds for free on request.
There are also four restaurants on site serving a range of Asian and international cuisine. This hotel includes an excellent buffet breakfast, always make sure that this is included with your room when you book. This hotel is located a few km to the west of the Old Town. This is a pretty good location right next to a lake with excellent views.
6 Mövenpick Hotel Hanoi
Price range: £140 – £500
The Mövenpick Hotel Hanoi is a classy 5 star hotel located a short walk from Hoan Kiem lake and train street. This beautiful hotel has a contemporary continental interior design theme with hints of Asian influence.
Rooms and suites at the Mövenpick Hotel are spacious and luxurious with large comfortable furniture. The deluxe King room offers a lot for the money – it is spacious and very well designed.
This hotel also has very good facilities including a fitness centre, spa and an on-site restaurant. Overall the Mövenpick Hotel Hanoi is a very good option if you are looking for a luxurious hotel in a good location.
7 Grand Mercure Hanoi
Price range: £160 – £400
The grand Mercure is one of our favorite 5-star hotels in Hanoi. This superlative property has a luxurious and stylish east Asian interior design theme. Comfortable and decadent furniture is used throughout the property to create the ultimate relaxing environment.
As a high rise hotel, the Mercure offers amazing city views. We love the use of large windows to give plenty of natural light and allow excellent views over the city. At the Grand Mercure hotel you pay a little more to get a lot more. They are very impressed with the spacious deluxe King suite.
Large windows allow you to enjoy an amazing view over Hanoi. There is also a freestanding bathtub with an incredible city view, watch the lights of Hanoi have you soak! The Grand Mercure hotel also has excellent facilities and amenities. There is an on-site restaurant serving a wide range of Asian and international cuisine, to an excellent standard. There is also a fitness center, spa and There is a glass side rooftop swimming pool.
The staff at the Grand Mercure hotel are extremely hospitable, helpful and welcoming. Overall this unique and stylish hotel offers the best balance between affordability and luxury.
8 Lotte Hotel Hanoi
Price range: £150 – £800
The Lotte Hotel is one of the more expensive and premium 5 star hotels in Hanoi. This beautiful hotel utilises a stylish minimalist interior design theme with hints of east Asian art. Rooms are bright, spacious and comfortable.
The Lotte Hotel Hanoi is a high rise with stunning city views. Lotte has outstanding facilities and amenities. They have a beautiful spa on site offering a range of innovative and decadent treatments. There are also four restaurants on site serving an impressive range of local and international dishes.
There are also two swimming pools here – one outdoor swimming pool and one indoor swimming pool. This hotel is also connected to the Lotte shopping mall (same building) with shops and ATMs.
This hotel is located a few kilometers to the west of the old quarter. The Lotte hotel is one of the best 5 star hotels in Hanoi. This does come with a big price tag – but if you’re looking to splash out – this is a great choice.
9 The Oriental Jade hotel
