What are food prices like in Siem Reap?

In general, food prices are very reasonable and affordable in Siem Reap. This is particularly true if you are comparing prices to Western countries in Europe, the UK, or the USA. You will find prices relatively affordable. Cambodia is a Southeast Asian country; local food is particularly affordable and can be very tasty, although it may not appeal to a Western palate. In some cases, you may order western food dishes and find them unusual or strange.
Local street food is the cheapest way to eat in Cambodia; you can generally find food for around $1 – $2. You can also find some cheap Western food cafes in Siem Reap. For example, you may be able to get a plate of pancakes for around $2 – $3. A sandwich or burger and chips are likely to cost around $3 – $5. You can also find more unique dishes such as sashimi, sushi, and stone-baked pizzas, normally ranging in price from $5 – $10.
1 Khmer Taste Restaurant

Amazing budget all-rounder. This gem of a restaurant is situated on Sok San Road, a short walk from Pub Street. There is a wide range of local and western food options available. The menu is impressively affordable, with many dishes ranging in price between $1 – $5. The portions are generous, and this restaurant has a nice vibe. This restaurant is open daily from 7 am – 11 pm.
2 Angkor Tacos


This one is a real hidden gem! Very affordable small and cute street-side restaurant serving super tasty fresh tacos. This lovely little place is run by a sweet local couple who have a talent for making fresh tasty tacos (seriously, they do it all from scratch!). You can get chicken, beef, and fish tacos.
They also serve burritos, nachos, and quesadillas. The menu ranges in price between $1.50 – $4.50. Most tacos are $1.50 and they are generously heaped with fresh tasty toppings. Angkor Tacos is open daily from 5 pm – 11.30 pm. This lovely little restaurant is situated in Sok San Road around 10 minute walk from pub street.
3 Kimchi Restaurant (Korean)

If you are in the mood for a Korean fix, then we highly recommend the Kimchi Restaurant. This is a very authentic Korean restaurant with dishes like Korean BBQ, Kimbap, Bulgogi, and Bibimbap. They include complimentary side dishes.

A meal at Kimchi is both super tasty and also a unique and fun experience. Most dishes range between $5 – $10. There are a few niche dishes that cost $20 and over.
4 Temple Design Bar & Restaurant

Looking for a stylish restaurant serving tasty fresh local and international cuisine? Don’t miss the Temple Design Bar & Restaurant situated on Sok San Road close to the Garden Village Guest House. This trendy restaurant is around a 10-minute walk from Pub Street. It is a pretty large venue with a range of different seating. They occasionally have music & live performances. The menu is also impressive with pastas, pizzas, burgers, and local dishes like Beef Lok Lak and Creamy Amok Curries. They often have special offers and deals. This restaurant is linked to the Temple Bar on Pub Street – (but we prefer this one!)
5 Curry King Indian Restaurant

If you love Indian food, can we highly recommend the Curry King Indian restaurant, which is situated at the top of Pub Street? They serve a wide range of North Indian food, including all the classics such as chicken tikka masala, biryani, and Korma. They also serve classic traditional Indian snacks and side dishes such as naan breads and papadums. The Curry King Indian restaurant is reasonably priced and very central.
6 Old Market Street Food stalls

And finally, if you are looking to experience some authentic local Cambodian street food, then check out the food stalls on the Old Market Street (street 09). The Old Market Street food stalls offer a range of local Cambodian street food. They also have seats so that you can sit at the street side while depending on which dishes you pick. They have a wide range of dishes to choose from, including dried fish, dried meat, curry’s, eggs, vegetables, and much more.
A few more great restaurants around Siem Reap

Although we have shared our 6 favorite places to eat in Siem Reap, we just wanted to share some additional recommendations. We love food so much and there is so much great food around; we wanted to give a shout out to a few more places.
If you’re looking for an amazing juicy burger – check out Jungle Burger on Sok San Road. Samut Pizza is one of the BEST pizza places around – and the prices are great too. Don’t miss Crep’Italy on the small alley next to Pub Street. This is great for fresh tasty and creative menu – Italian & Western Cuisine. If you love Italian and want something classy, then don’t miss Il Forno. Classy fresh Italian food – a little pricey but nice ambiance one block from Pub Street.
Also, just at the bottom of Pub Street, check out Mesa Restaurant. This stylish venue has a great ambiance – They serve a Fusion of Cambodian, Vietnamese, and Japanese. Again expensive relative to other places nearby – but great quality. If you’re looking for a refreshing treat, we highly recommend a stop at Gelato Lab – creative and delightful ice cream shop. And finally, if you’re looking for a romantic high-end dining experience – check out the elegant Chanrey Tree Restaurant situated by the Siem Reap river a short walk from Pub Street.
