Why Stay in a Boutique Hotel in Krabi?

If you are planning to stay in Krabi to enjoy relaxation, slowing down, and connecting with the area, you may well want to pick accommodation that enables you to unwind and find inner peace.
Boutique hotels are a great choice if you are looking for somewhere that is unique, stylish, and full of character. Boutique hotels are generally relatively small and independently owned (although this is not always the case). Picking a boutique hotel offers a more intimate and personal level of service. They tend to be quieter and more relaxing; a boutique hotel may also offer slightly better facilities and amenities relative to non-boutique hotels in the area.
Why is it so hard to find boutique hotels in Krabi?

The term boutique hotel can be pretty ambiguous and may be understood in different ways. When we use the term Boutique Hotel, we are talking about hotels that have a lot of character, style, and charm. Boutique hotels often draw upon local art and local design themes to create an aesthetically impressive environment. Boutique hotels are often small independent hotels rather than big commercial resorts; however, there are some exceptions. Some big resorts in Krabi offer a very impressive boutique style, so we have included some larger resorts in this article.
The ambiguity of the term boutique hotel can make it quite difficult to find a boutique hotel online. Furthermore, many hotels that advertise themselves as boutique hotels are not particularly boutique in their style or ethos. We have come across many budget hostels and guest houses that use the term boutique to attract guests, yet the property lacks style, imagination, innovation, and charm. All of the hotels recommended and reviewed in this article are genuinely boutique in their style; they are artistic, unique, and charming. Each of these hotels offers something special in comparison to other hotels in the area in a similar budget range.

One more thing: if you are hoping to stay in a boutique hotel in Krabi, you need to be prepared to pay a little bit more for the additional style and character of the place. Furthermore, you may need to compromise on location. For example, if you want a boutique hotel right on the beachfront, you need to budget for one of the more expensive luxury beachfront resorts. So it is important to be clear about exactly what you want from your hotel and how important it is that you get a place that is truly boutique.
1. Boutique Village Hotel

Price Range: £40 – £280
The Boutique Village Hotel is one of the most affordable boutique hotels in Krabi. This beautiful boutique hotel has an outdoor swimming pool and large, stylish wooden accommodation. The resort has a lovely natural ambience surrounded by green trees and tropical foliage. One massive advantage of staying at the Boutique Village Hotel is the impressive range of accommodation available. They really do have something for everyone, whether you are a couple looking for a unique and impressive place to stay or you are a family looking for unique, spacious accommodation.

They have a very impressive range of options available here. If you are traveling with kids on the mid-budget range, you can get a quadruple family room for around £40 – £50 per night. This is very good value for money in the Krabi area. Find more family hotels in Krabi – The Best Hotels in Krabi for families with kids
All rooms at this accommodation are excellently furnished, including amenities like a fridge, flat-screen TV, and air conditioning. At the expensive end, they have an entire Villa available that can sleep up to eight people, costing £130 – £250.
The main disadvantage of the Boutique Village Hotel is the location. It is around 5 kilometers from the Ao Nang beachfront area. It is too far to walk to the beach area, so you will need to have your transportation or rely on taxis. Although this area is set back from the hustle and bustle of the tourist strip, you will find fewer shops, cafes, restaurants, and tour agents in this area. There are some advantages to being situated in the center of a touristy spot.
2. The Cottage Aonang

Price Range: £45 – £100
The Cottage is one of those hidden gems in Ao Nang. If you are looking for boutique hotels in Krabi, then this unique hotel offers a fantastic and affordable option. The property is beautifully immersed in lush and well-kept tropical gardens with a beautiful outdoor swimming pool. There is a high level of care and personal attention at The Cottage. You really are looked after well if you take a stay here! There are two options at this property. The private garden Cottage starts at around £45 per night and can accommodate up to two people. If you are traveling with kids, they also have a family garden Cottage, which typically costs between £70 – £100 per night.

We really love the unique and stylish interior design here; the cottages are constructed of beautiful light wood, and the rooms are tastefully furnished with artwork and stylish furniture. The rooms have a lovely clean and well-designed feel. The Cottage Aonang is situated between the Ao Nang Beach Area and the Ao Nam Mao pier. It is set back inland and is around 5km from the nearest beach. So don’t expect a beachfront property; if you want to spend a lot of time on the beach, you will need to rely on taxis or have your transportation. They do not include breakfast as standard at this hotel, so if you want breakfast, you will need to select an option to include breakfast and pay extra for this.
3. Baan Habeebee Resort

Price Range: £50 – £660
If you’re looking for a truly unique boutique resort, check out the stunning Baan Habeebee Resort. This beautiful resort epitomizes a classic Southeast Asian boutique hotel with stunning wooden artwork, lush tropical gardens, and stylish wooden architecture. In our opinion, Baan Habeebee is one of the best boutique hotels in Krabi, offering amazing value for money and that cozy, intimate boutique ambiance that you’ve been dreaming of. Baan Habeebee Resort combines Thai and Balinese artwork to create a serene and calming aesthetic.

Baan Habeebee Resort also offers a very wide range of accommodation options to meet the needs of different travelers. For example, at the cheapest end, you can get an entire double bungalow for around £50 per night. This bungalow is beautifully stylish and excellently furnished. It has large windows allowing plenty of natural light (this is unusual for a wooden room like this). It also has a mini kitchenette area and a private bathroom. Based on the style and character of this room, it is outstanding value for money.

If you are really looking to splash out and you want more space, they also have a large Private Pool Villa which can accommodate up to 10 people. This Villa typically goes for around £550 – £650 per night. Baan Habeebee Resort is well situated a couple of kilometers from the Ao Nang Beach area. It takes around 10 or 15 minutes to walk to the beach from here. Alternatively, you can use local taxis to get around the area.
4 Banyan Tree Krabi

Price Range: £330 – £1,200
The Banyan Tree is a very luxurious beach resort situated 25 minutes north of Ao Nang. This exceptional resort has an innovative boutique Southeast Asian interior design theme. It is situated by the beautiful and peaceful Tubkaek Beach (out of the way of the tourist crowds in the Ao Nang Beach area!)

This is a great option if you are looking for a luxurious boutique beach resort. It is worth noting that this is a larger resort with lots of facilities and amenities. BUT it doesn’t offer the intimacy of some of the smaller independent boutique hotels we have mentioned earlier in this article.
The Bayan Tree has 4 gourmet restaurants serving Asian and international cuisine; they have a stunning swimming pool, a fitness center, evening entertainment, and a kids club. Oh yeah, and perhaps best of all. The sunsets are truly magnificent from this hotel!

One of the best options here for affordability, space, and location is the Premium Ocean Pool Suite. This suite typically ranges in price between £400 – £500 per night (so this is one of the cheaper options at the Banyan Tree). However, you get loads for your money with this remarkable suite. The Premium Ocean Pool Suite has a small private infinity pool (with an amazing ocean view), a private terrace area, and a luxury ensuite bathroom with a large freestanding curved bathtub. This suite is the perfect option for a couple or a small family looking for a very special stay in Krabi.
5 Phulay Bay (A Ritz Carlton Reserve)

Price Range: £500 – £1,700
Phulay Bay is one of the most prestigious and luxury boutique resorts in Krabi. The Phulay Bay Resort is situated close to Tubkaek Beach. This resort is boutique-meets-royal palace. It really is a charming and creative resort. All of the suites and villas at this resort are extremely spacious, well-designed, and hyper-luxurious.

For example, even the entry-level suite starts at around £500 per night. This luxurious suite includes a large freestanding spa bath and plenty of space. We love the east asian art and design – which is confident and yet tasteful! They also have plenty of private pool villas available. For example, the trendy beach villa is large, spacious, light, and has its own private pool. Take a dip in paradise completely in private. Phulay Bay is a relatively large resort with extensive grounds and outstanding facilities.

All rooms include additional luxurious furniture, artwork, and spacious ensuite bathrooms with large bathtubs. There really are no low-quality options here. The resort is out of the way of Ao Nang – however, this may not bother you. If you’re booking a place like this, you probably won’t want to leave the resort.
Although they don’t advertise it, this luxurious resort has its own small private beach area by the Chomtawan Restro-bar. Phulay Bay has a very unique eclectic Asian interior design theme with a blend of traditional and contemporary features.
8 Rayavadee Resort Railay

Price Range: £550 – £1,200
Rayavadee takes luxury boutique to the next level. The whole resort has a charming natural boutique interior design theme that helps you connect with the stunning surroundings of this unique and decadent property.

At this end of the price range, pretty much everything is perfect. The breakfast is amazing. The suites are luxurious, unique, and innovative. The staff are outstanding, offering the best of Thai hospitality. And the location of Rayavadee is also excellent. It is a short stroll from Phra Nang Beach and the Princess cave. They even have a dedicated beach cave restaurant (only for guests). Yep, a gourmet restaurant in a beach cave. Don’t forget your camera!

Even the most humble option, the Deluxe Pavilion, starts at around £560 per night, and you essentially get an entire boutique villa to yourself with a freestanding bathtub, living room, large windows, and a supremely luxurious bedroom. And from here and up, it just gets bigger, grander, and more facilities. For example, consider Villa with Private Pool. This is like having your own luxury home in the jungle with a large private swimming pool and some of the most stylish interiors. It may be expensive, but staying in a resort like this is likely to be one of those unforgettable experiences. So if you’re looking for a special once-in-a-lifetime experience or you’re celebrating a special occasion, Rayavadee is a fantastic choice.
