If your planning a diving trip in Tioman you will also need to find a great place to stay. In our humble opinion accomodation in Tioman is relatively expensive – you don’t get a lot for your money compared to other destinations in Malaysia and southeast Asia. BUT there are a few amazing places that we are excited to recommend…
Tioman Santai Resort (Juara Bay)

For the BEST value for money don’t miss the Tioman Santai Resort. This small hotel is located right on the seafront in Juara and offers sea view rooms. Be aware that the rooms are pretty basic but reasonably clean and nice. The Santai Bistro Resort also has an outdoor swimming pool and a cafe (opening hours variable). The Tioman Santai Bistro Resort is not only GREAT value for money. It is also an excellent location for MANY of the things to do in Tioman.
The Tioman Dive Resort

The Tioman Dive Resort is located On Air Batang Beach on the west coast of Tioman island and next to the B&J dive centre – this is a great location to stay for diving in Tioman. The Tioman Dive Resort can hook you up with fun dives and courses for great prices AND they have an excellent range of rooms and suites to accommodate solo travelers, couples or families. Also this a great location to enjoy the stunning Tioman island sunsets.
Japamala Resort

The Japamala Resort really is VERY beautiful and offers a range of comfortable luxury accommodation – perfect for splashing out in Tioman. They also have a villa with a private swimming pool. We love the use of dark wood creating an aesthetic synergy with the beautiful natural surroundings. The only disadvantage of the Japamala Resort is that it is out of the way for many of the things to do in Tioman. So if you are planning to explore Tioman – you will need to factor in the time and cost of taking boats around the island.
