Where is Munduk Moding Plantation Resort located?
The beautiful Munduk Moding plantation is located high in the mountains of North Bali overlooking the jungle and the Bali sea. It is around 75km north of Denpasar (this is likely to take 3 hours or more by road). It is around 60km north of Ubud and roughly 15km south of Lovina. This is a very rural location. There are a few shops and convenience stores in the area. There is a small range of local food available in the area.

It is important to be aware that this is quite a remote location. There are no buses or public transport services running here. It is likely to take several hours to drive to Munduk Moding from Denpasar. It is also important to be aware that some of the roads are very steep in this area (especially the roads connecting Munduk Moding and the north coast).
1 Get to Munduk by motorbike

The most fun, adventurous and intrepid way to get there is to rent a motorbike. You can rent motorbikes all around Bali. We recommend getting a more powerful bike, especially if you’re planning to share with someone. We recommend at least 125cc and go automatic if you have the choice. Make sure you wear a helmet on the roads in Bali and that you are fully qualified and insured to ride a bike in Bali. Many of the roads in this area are very steep and could be challenging for an inexperienced rider. You can rent bikes from hostels, hotels and guesthouses around Bali. Expect to pay around 100,000IDR – 200,000IDR per day (roughly £5 – £10 per day). You can normally negotiate cheaper deals if you are taking a longer rental period.
3 Travel to Munduk using a rental car

One of the most convenient ways to travel to the Munduk plantation resort is to use a car rental. This is also great value for money: You can find local car rental deals starting at around 200,000IDR – 400,000IDR per day (roughly £10 – £20 or $12 – $24). The best way to get a good deal is contact a local car rental dealer directly and negotiate for the best price.
3 Get to Munduk by taxi

If you are unable to ride a car or a bike you can also get to the Munduk plantation resort by taxi. The best way to arrange a taxi in Bali is to use the Grab taxi app. Be aware that if you are planning a long journey it may take a while for a driver to accept the journey on the app. Therefore you may wish to speak to taxi drivers waiting in town and arrange the trip with them. Use the grab taxi app to get a good idea of a fair price and make sure you agree on the price with a driver before you go. Expect to pay around 500,000IDR – 700,000IDR (roughly £30 – £40 or $35 – 50) for a taxi from Denpasar to the Munduk plantation.

1 MiPi Restaurant

Dine with a view at the stylish MiPi restaurant. This stylish romantic restaurant offers an impressive menu including Balinese, Asian, international and signature fusion dishes. They have a garden to table concept – most ingredients, vegetables and spices are grown on site. Prices range roughly between 40,000IDR – 500,000IDR (for a sharing platter) this is roughly £2 – £30.
2 Warung Bongkot Restaurant

This restaurant focuses on north Balinese dishes using fresh local spices and ingredients. Where possible ingredients are grown in their own gardens! It doesn’t get fresher than that. They serve a wide range of starters, sides and a selection of traditional Bali sweets. This lovely restaurant is also great value for money. Can you visit Munduk Moding as a day guest?

Yes, it is possible to visit the Munduk Moding Resort as a day guest. 500,000IDR allows you to enjoy welcome drinks, a two course lunch and explore the gardens and plantation. 900,000IDR allows you to enjoy welcome drinks, a two course lunch and explore the gardens and plantation AND use the infinity pool for an hour.
Is Munduk Moding good for families with kids?
