Blue tree adventure village phuket for kids

The Adventure Village at Blue Tree is a large indoor playspace with trampolines, a roller skate zone, slides, ball pits, swings, a foam pit and an indoor zipline. YES they even have a zip line. We love the sheer variety of activities. Adventure Village is the perfect place to nurture confidence, strength, stamina and balance in kids (and adults too!). It is also the perfect way to burn off all that energy that kids never seem to lack. You do need to supervise kids here – especially younger kids. We would recommend taking a full day at the Adventure Village (one hour just doesn’t seem long enough to enjoy all of the activities and two hours is close to the price of a day pass). The Adventure Village is located at Blue Tree Phuket – there is also an awesome water park here called Blue Tree Lagoon.

Activity 4 Learn Thai Cooking at a cookery school

Phuket holiday itinerary cooking school

This is a great way for kids and adults to connect with Thai culture and learn a new skill culminating a delicious Thai meal. A Thai cookery class will normally include a visit to a local market and a chance to learn about local spices and ingredients. A good cooking class will give you lots of hands-on experience preparing ingredients and cooking the food. Most cooking classes allow you to prepare at least 3 dishes including a starter or side dish, a main course and a Thai dessert. And then as a finale, you get to try the food. Thai cooking classes also normally include extras such as free pick up and drop offs from your hotel and they may also include a recipe book so you can take your skill back home.

How much do Cooking classes cost? Cooking classes normally cost around 2,000 baht for a half day course (around £40 or $50)

What age is this suitable for?  Most cooking schools are fine with kids of any age attending – but younger kids will normally be supervised closely by parents (who will probably do most of the cooking). We recommend this for older kids. Ideally 10 years or older for the most engagement.

What is the weather like in Phuket during the rainy season?

It can rain any time of the year in Phuket – so these Phuket indoor activities are hand whenever you travel.

The Phuket rainy season extends from April until late October. During the rainy season Phuket experiences rainy spells of around 1-2 weeks in length as storms pass. This is normally followed by several sunny dry days and then another rainy spell when a new storm rolls in. In the rainy season the weather is still normally warm (ranging between 28 – 32 degrees on average) and the humidity is high.

Even during a rainy spell it may only rain for part of the day – and sometimes the storms are more intense in the evening or night time. It is important to wear sun protection even on cloudy days. The weather forecast is often unreliable during the rainy season – for example you may see thunderstorms and heavy rain predicted but the weather turns out to be dry. During the rainy season the sea is normally rougher with bigger waves and stronger currents. The sea can also be more polluted in the rainy season and there is a greater risk of jellyfish.

There are some advantages of travelling in Phuket during the rainy season: Since this is the low season for travel, prices can be a little cheaper and places are less busy. The rainy season is a better time for surfing as the sea is normally much calmer in the dry season. You can also get some of the best sunsets during the rainy season when there is partial cloud cover.
