If you are only stopping in Krabi for one or two days, you will need to be selective about what activities you see and do. We recommend reading through some of the best things to do in Krabi and picking out the bits that you are most inspired by.

Some of the most popular and iconic activities in the area include: Tonsai & Railay (find out how to get to Tonsai & Railay), The 4 islands – Island Hopping Trip, Tiger Cave Temple & The Emerald Pool. With only one or two days, you will not be able to see and do all of these things. If you love adventure you should also have time to take a trek to Emerald Lagoon or try some climbing in Tonsai.

We recommend picking one or two of your favorite activities and focusing on these. It will also be very important to be quite planned and organized in advance, make sure that your trips and tours are booked, and have a good idea of how you plan to travel around the area to reduce fumble time and maximize your experience in Krabi.

If you only have one or two days in Krabi, you could also pick some more obscure hidden gems, such as visiting a stunning sunrise viewpoint or spending some time in a jungle Treehouse cafe. Why go with the flow and do what everyone else does? The best travel experiences are generally those that you do because you really want to do them (rather than things you are told you “need to do”). So really think about your own aspirations, dreams, and desires before you plan your itinerary, even if you just have one or two days.

In our opinion, 5 days is the ideal amount of time to spend in Krabi. Spending 5 days in the area means that you can slow down a little bit and really connect, reflect, and absorb this beautiful destination. There may even be time to revisit some of your favorite experiences and explore the area in more depth. If you have five days in Krabi, you will also be able to connect with the local culture, find some of the best places to eat, and take a little bit of time to rest and relax.

With 5 days in Krabi, you can place yourself and see all of the main attractions such as the beaches, taking an island hopping tour, visiting Tiger Cave Temple, and of course, visiting the Emerald Pool and hot spring. By taking longer in Krabi, you will have more time for photography, and you will also have more time to stop and take in moments.

If you do choose to spend five days in Krabi, this is a large chunk out of your Thailand time, especially if you only have a few weeks in the country. So remember, it is important to look at the bigger picture. What things do you really hope to see and do in Thailand? Can you also fit these into a trip if you spend five days in Krabi?

Why spend longer in Krabi?

There is a big advantage to slowing down and taking more time in Krabi. The more time you spend in one destination, the less time you will spend in transit around Thailand, which maximizes your time for enjoying this beautiful country. Moving around too fast means you have lots of tiring travel days, and the whole experience can be more exhausting than enjoyable. Transit also adds to the overall cost of your trip. So picking how long to spend in a particular region is very important. Sometime slower and longer really is better.

What can you do with a week or two in Krabi?

If you have time in Krabi don’t miss the magnificent Jungle Treehouse Cafe. It is magical & unique…

Once you get up to around one week in Krabi, there is plenty of time to see all of the main attractions and explore the area in more depth. You will be able to visit some hidden gems and experience areas of Krabi that other travelers miss. If you stay longer than this, you may find that you are stretching out your time a little bit. This may be exactly what you need, after all, if you’ve paid all of this money to come to Thailand, why not slow down, relax, rest, and take a real vacation? When you are planning your travel itinerary, it is very important to consider whether you need a slow restful stay or whether you want to absorb and take in as much new experience as possible.

What other things can you do in the South Thailand area?

If you’re attracted to island life, then we recommend spending some time on Koh Phi Phi. If you are interested in diving or free diving, why not get over to Koh Tao or Koh Lipe.

Summary – How long should you stay in Krabi?

The answer to this question is, of course, personal, and we recommend considering the bigger picture. This includes what you want to do around Thailand, what things you want to see and do in Krabi, and what kind of break you need. Are you interested in a fast and furious travel experience where you embrace a load of new experiences, or do you just need to slow down and chill out on a beach?
