What is the food like at OZO Phuket?
The food at OZO Phuket is outstanding. Their menu is one of those menus that makes you want to order everything! They have a fantastic range of Western, Thai and Asian food to satisfy any palate. The food is fresh, healthy and well prepared. The restaurant is excellently equipped including high chairs and plenty of space to aid social distancing.
OZO Phuket also have a kids menu and have plenty of food options to keep your little ones happy. The breakfasts are fantastic too- so you can fill up on a healthy and satisfying meal each day.
There is a great pool side bar serving a range of beers, cocktails and spirits. Oh yeah and don’t miss the half price happy hour for a cheeky cocktail or two.
What is the pool like at OZO Phuket?
There are actually THREE swimming pools at OZO Phuket. All of the swimming pools at OZO Phuket are warm and clean. The main pool is long and wide and is surrounded by deck chairs and umbrellas. It is also conveniently located next to the restaurant and bar.
The big kids activities pool has an epic water slide, a volleyball net, artificial waterfalls, a volleyball net and a climbing wall (yeah you read that right, a climbing wall).
The little kids play pool is shallow and has lots of squirty sprayie water features and a big red octopus called Olly who is always ready to greet guests with a smile and a spray. The little kids play pool also has a smaller water slide for little bums.
Oh yeah and just next to the kids pool is an activities corner which is a well designed play park with a climbing frame, slide and a soft floor.
How close to the beach is OZO Phuket?
OZO Phuket is located right next to Kata beach at the north side of the bay. You can walk to the beach a couple of minutes from OZO. There is actually a little beach gate just past the waterslide pool enabling you to take a convenient shortcut to the beach. Kata beach is a fantastic spot for surfing in Phuket. Kata beach is west facing and is great for sunset walks along the beach.
Can I park a car at OZO Phuket?
Yes, guests can park their cars (or rental cars) at OZO Phuket free of charge. OZO Phuket has an under-cover car park located just in front of the reception.
What time is check in and check out at OZO Phuket?
Check in time is at 12pm and check out time is at 2pm at OZO Phuket. OZO Phuket have a smooth check in and check out process. In some of their packages late check outs are sometimes included.
How do I get to OZO Phuket?
OZO Phuket offer an airport transfer service for an additional fee. They also include a free airport transfer in some of their packages so keep an eye out for this. Another great option is to download the Grab App to your phone and use this to book a taxi (the prices seem to be the best you can get for taxis and this app is used by locals). Alternatively you could rent a car at the airport and use the car to travel to OZO Phuket and explore the island.
What activities can you do at OZO Phuket?
OZO Phuket has a wide range of activities and tours available. There really is something for everyone:
Try a Thai Cooking class – a great way to connect with the local culture and food, classes show you how to cook traditional Thai dishes from fresh local ingredients. AT the end of the course you get to enjoy the delicious food that you have prepared.
Elephant sanctuary visit
OZO Phuket can also arrange tours of an ethical elephant sanctuary, allowing you to connect with these beautiful gentle giants. At the elephant sanctuary you learn about the backstories of the rescued elephants. Feed them their favourite treat of bananas and give them a mud bath. All of this is followed by a swim in the river with the elephants then off for a show and lunch.
Surf lessons
OZO Phuket can hook you up with surf lessons. Kata bay is a great spot for surfing. Obviously the waves depend on the weather conditions and the time of year. We found that the waves were big enough to give you a challenge but not too big to put off a beginner.
Paddle boarding lessons
OZO Phuket can also arrange a paddle boarding lesson for you. Paddle boarding is a little more chilled out than surfing. The board is bigger and more stable in the water. You stand up on the board and use a paddle to get around. Paddle boarders can also ride waves just like surfers.
Art lessons
The OZO Phuket also has some connections with exciting art projects in the community. The hotel can arrange an art lesson for you – great for kids too. The art teachers are creative, engaging and provide a range of materials to help you develop a creative masterpiece. We were very impressed by OZO Phuket’s commitment to support artists in the pandemic by creating an art project along the walls of the resort.
The OZO hotpot
The OZO Phuket offer a hotpot culinary experience. Served at the beautiful poolside, they bring an amazing meat and/or seafood set complete with a bubbling hotpot so you can cook your morsels to perfection.
Beach BBQ
OZO Phuket also offer a beach BBQ experience. They provide a basket full of tasty treats, a picnic mat, and a BBQ pot with coals. The BBQ food normally includes seafood and some meats along with some super tasty local sauces. Sit back and relax with a stunning view whilst enjoying the smell of BBQ food cooking – that’s what I call sheer bliss.
Is OZO Phuket hygienic and covid-safe?
Any SHA business in Thailand must have at least 70% of the staff vaccinated. As a member of the ONYX hospitality group, OZO Phuket also follows many protocols, standards and guidelines to ensure that their resorts are clean, hygienic and covid safe.
- The OZO Phuket have hygiene stations with hand sanitisers located around the resort and especially in locations where the risk of contact transmission is high (e.g. elevators)
- They have several non-contact temperature stations around the hotel, especially at locations where a large number of guest are passing through on a regular basis
- They have a range of measures to encourage and assist guests and staff social distancing (e.g. spaced out seating in the restaurant and around the pool)
- Rooms are cleaned and sealed to show that the standards of cleaning comply with the ONYX clean initiative.
